In short

How do MODA watch auctions work?

We run your watch as a full-service consignment. We inspect, photograph, and list it, coordinate the buyers, and handle payment, so you never ship to a stranger before getting paid. Fees are 4% on watches over $10,000 with a $750 minimum, or a flat $500 under $10,000.

02The process

How a MODA auction works.

  1. 01

    Submit your details

Tell us about your piece: brand, model, condition, and what it comes with. We will come back with an estimate quickly.

  2. 02

    Ship your watch

We send you a prepaid FedEx label. Pack it up and drop it at any FedEx Ship Center. That is the extent of your involvement. International sellers cover the label.

  3. 03

    We handle everything

Inspection, professional photos, auction write-up, posting, and keeping the listing engaged. All on us.

  4. 04

The auction closes and you get paid

We coordinate directly with the buyer and get your funds wired. Then we ship the watch. Done.

  5. That is it

One drop-off. Everything else is on us.

03Transparent pricing

No surprises. No hidden charges.

One flat rate. Photography, serial check, and auction management are all folded in. You know the number upfront and that is the number.

Standard auction fee
4%
$750 minimum

For watches valued over $10,000. That 4% covers everything we do: inspection, photography, writing the listing, running the auction, answering buyer questions, coordinating payment, and shipping the watch out when it sells.

Under $10K pieces
$500
Flat fee

Watches under $10,000 in value are a flat $500. Same process, same care. A fixed number means you are not doing percentage math.

Everything
In every fee

05FAQ

Auction questions, answered.

Everything you need to know before you ship your watch.

The number we give you comes from what we've actually seen sell. Statistically our estimates land within about 5% of the final result, and 60% of auctions close above what we quoted. You'll have a real sense of what to expect before you ever ship it.
Mostly the big names: Rolex, Audemars Piguet, Patek Philippe, that tier. Our average auction sits around $25,000, but we've moved everything from entry-level luxury pieces all the way up to multiple six-figure sales. If you're not sure whether your watch is a fit, just send it in and we'll tell you honestly.
If we miss something during inspection that affects the buyer, a scratch, a discrepancy, anything, we deal with it. Out of our fee, not yours. We're not going to come back to you over something we should've caught. Our name is on every transaction, so we hold ourselves to that.
You're dealing with the person actually running your auction, not a platform, not a rep. We've held a 99% sale completion rate because our buyers are real and our deals close. On third-party platforms, fake bids and buyers walking away are way more common than they let on. With MODA, what you see is what happens.
Yep. We buy outright too. Text us the details and we'll make you a real offer. If the number works for you, ship the watch. We inspect it and wire your money same day.
